Operation:
The labeller works on a rotary principle and can be equipped with different labelling modules. The infeed worm controls the container infeed and creates a defined gap between the containers which matches the pitch of the infeed star. The infeed star guides containers onto the centering plates of the carousel. Then the centering heads fix the containers on the centering plates.
Wet glue module FVT18
In the glueing device of the wet glue module FVT18 the glue is pumped and recirculated over the rotating glue roller and returned via a hose. An even glue film covers the glue roller. The labels are positioned vertically in the stationary label magagine. A vacuum bar picks up the label from the magazine and transfers the label to transports belts. After moving through the belt transport section the label meets the glue roller which applies an even thin film to the entire backside of the label. The label edge is deflected off the glue roller onto the container. The entire label wraps around the container and is wiped tightly to the container.
Wet glue module pallet labelling
In the glueing device of the wet glue module pallet labelling, the glue is guided by the glue pump onto the rotating glue roll via a hose. An even glue film covers the glue roller. The labels are positioned vertically in the label magazine. The glue pallets pick up labels from the magazine; then they are transfered to the pincer roller (or gripper cylinder). The pincer roller transfers glued Labels to the container.
Self-adhesive module
The label is located at the dispensing edge of the self-adhesive module where it is ready for release. The passing container removes the label from the dispensing edge and the self-adhesive labeller transports the next label to the waiting position located at the dispensing edge.
Hotmelt module
During the pick-up glueing process, dots of glue are sprayed onto the container by the hotmelt module. The labels are positioned vertically in the hotmelt label magazine. The passing container pulls the leading label edge out of the magazine using the adhesive force of the first glue dots. Because of container rotation the label is wound around the container. During the lap glueing process the label trailing edge has hot melt extruded from an overlap bar as the label is pulled from the label magazine. During container rotation the overlap adheres to the designated spot on the label body.
To pull the label tight the container is conveyed through wipe-on brushes/press-on rolls which smooth and press the label onto the container surface. Shortly before reaching the discharge starwheel the centering heads release the containers again. Then the discharge starwheel guides the containers from the centering plates back to the conveyor.
